Night Walk Around Buangkok Area (04 Sep 2015)

It's been a long and tiring day and so I decided to change my original plan of going to Macritchie Reservoir to checking out a "wild" spot that I came across in the Buangkok area.

Here's an interesting photograph of a pupa. Not sure what it was.

The weather was very dry and the plants at the place were looking dry and limp. Interestingly there were many of this Chafer Beetles (Adorentus compressus).

Here's another pair of the Adoretus compressus Chafer Beetle.

Near to Adoretus Compressus Chafer Beetle was another commonly encountered Chafer Beetie (Apogonia expeditionis).

It was only having walked for about 30 minutes that I encountered this lone Chafer Beetle (Phyllophaga marginalis) having a great feast on a leaf.

More walking without finding any beetle and I was almost wanting about to give up. Just then this 5 mm Darkling Beetle appeared on a tree trunk.

The last beetle for the trip was this bronze colored Leaf Beetle.

The outcome of the trip was not unexpected given the super dry weather we are having, possibly due to the haze that came from Indonesia.
